Harvard says that Zona Plus can lower blood pressure as much as blood pressure drugs. Harvard Heart Letter January 2007 Cambridge, MA- A recent article in the Harvard Heart Letter (Harvard Medical School) states that the Zona Plus ".has been shown to lower blood pressure as much as a first-line anti-hypertensive drug." The article concludes that the device is money well spent because it may keep individuals from taking a "handful of pills" as well as relieving the continual cost of blood pressure medication, with no significant risk to the user. (Read the entire article here.) Another major medical journal shows that the Zona Plus lowers blood pressure. International Journal of Cardiology June 2006 The Zona Plus/CardioGrip protocol was featured in the June 16 edition of the International Journal of Cardiology. The study entitled "Short-term isometric exercise reduces systolic blood pressure in hypertensive adults: Possible role of reactive oxygen species," concluded that the Zona Plus was effective in lowering systolic blood pressure. The participants of the study, consisting of medicated patients, with an average systolic blood pressure of 145mmHg, experienced an average drop of 13mmHg, and returned them to pre-hypertensive levels. (See the research article here). Recent research shows that the Zona Plus offers a proven and revolutionary treatment for high blood pressure American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology June 2006 According to an article in the American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory, the Zona Plus/CardioGrip protocol improved endothelial function in patients medicated for hypertension. The study concluded that patients using drugs to control high blood pressure saw endothelial function return to the normal ranges, after performing the Zona Plus protocol. The study also concluded that because of the ease of use, high compliance, and significant upgrade in the endothelial tissue the Zona Plus has benefits for the treatment of hypertension in ACE Inhibitors may lead to an increase in birth defects New England Journal of Medicine June 8 2006 A recent study by the New England Journal of Medicine indicates that women who are pregnant and are taking a class of hypertension drugs called ACE inhibitors are being advised by the FDA to reconsider using the medication. Preliminary research has indicated that women who are using ACE inhibitors during the first trimester have children with an increase in birth defects. Normal blood pressure could add years to your life Monash University 6 July 2005 People in their 50s who have normal blood pressure could live up to five years longer than those with hypertension (high blood pressure), an international study has found. The study, which has been published in the current issue of Hypertension:
Journal of the American Heart Association, tracked 3128 people who celebrated
their 50th birthday while enrolled in the Framingham Heart Study, which looks
at risk factors for heart disease. Recent Study Finds That Water Consumption Helps With Hypertension Hypertension is a state of adaptation of the body to a generalized drought,
when there is not enough water to fill all the blood vessels that diffuse water
into vital cells. As part of the mechanism of reverse osmosis, when water from
the blood serum is filtered and injected into important cells through minute
holes in their membranes, extra pressure is needed for the "injection process." Just
as we inject I.V. "water" in hospitals, so the body injects water into
tens of trillions of cells all at the same time. Water and some salt intake will
bring blood pressure back to normal! McMaster University researchers find that simple handgrip excercise lowers blood pressure Hamilton, ON 13 October 2004 "In two studies at McMaster Universitys Department of Kinesiology, researchers demonstrated that doing isometric handgrip (IHG) contractions three times a week for eight weeks led to lower blood pressure in people who were already taking medication for high blood pressure (hypertension)" Click here for full text See also this article at WebMD Howden, Lightfoot, Brown and Swaine, Experimental Physiology (2002) 87.4, 507-515 In...arm isometric exercise training conditions, there was a significant reduction in resting SBP [Systolic Blood Pressure] Ray and Carrasco, AJP-Heart 279:245-249, 2000 The results indicate that IHG training is an effective nonpharmacological intervention in lowering arterial pressure Taylor, McCartney, Kamath, and Wiley, Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise 35(2):251-256, Feb 2003 ...Isometric training at a moderate intensity elicits a hypotensive response and a simultaneous increase in vagal modulation in older adults with hypertension McGowen, Visocchi, Faulkner, Rakobowchuk, McCartney, and Macdonald, The American Physiological Society The APS Intersociety Meeting, Oct 2004 IHG (Zona PLUSTM) training improves systolic BP and endothelial function in persons medicated for hypertension Visocchi, McGowen, Faulkner, Verduyn, McCartney, and Macdonald, The American Physiological Society The APS Intersociety Meeting, Oct 2004 The results of the study indicate that IHG (Zona PLUSTM) exercise improves resting systolic blood pressure and carotid AD Internal Study: Confidential nationally known cardiology clinic At the end of the study period, average systolic pressure was 126.7 +/- 1.8, for an average drop of 8.93 +/- 2.67 from baseline. Additionally, the drop in systolic pressure from follow-up visit 3 to follow-up visit 6 was significant. Sitting diastolic pressures declined similarly during the training period...and was significant. Diastolic pressure continued to drop throughout the foll-up periods...and was significant D.W.
